Therapies

Low Level Laser Therapy,  or Photobiomodulation to give it it’s more common reference,  works on the principle that every cell in the body responds to light, different cells being activated by different frequencies or different wave-lengths of light.

Using a mixture of Class 3B Laser and LED, Laser Therapy is used to increase the energy of cells that are working sub-optimally  –  whether due to injury, stress or disease  –   by the promotion of the body’s own analgesic, vasodilatory and anti-inflammatory responses .

When stimulated in this way, healing is accelerated  –  enhancing recovery from soft tissue injuries, wounds, accidental or post-surgical tissue trauma, torn tendons, scarring and fractures, to list but a few of the areas in which it can help.  Laser Therapy is also extremely effective in helping to neutralise infection, or where wounds are ‘non-healing’ by conventional medical practice  –  by strengthening the tissue’s natural responses.

The advantage of Laser Treatment is that there is no drug involvement and no side-effects, leaving it suitable to be administered to drug-sensitive individuals or for use with competitive humans/animals – even on the day of competition.

Traditional & Laser Acupuncture

These two methodologies may be used independently or in conjunction with each other. However, only non-invasive Laser Acupuncture is ever applied to animals.

Traditional Acupuncture   is based on ancient classical principles of harmonising and balancing the body’s energy to promote health and well-being.
Initiated by the insertion of fine and delicate ‘needles’ into specific acupuncture points on the body, acupuncture can work on three levels – physical, mental or emotional – either in isolation or in combination and is used to help treat a wide variety of symptomatic and/or constitutional problems.

Laser Acupuncture    on the other hand, provides a non-invasive way to achieve the same or similar results to Traditional Acupuncture.  This method is particularly favoured, but certainly not restricted, to use by the old, the young or the sensitive.

In the Lightworks Clinic, Laser Therapy, Traditional Acupuncture and Laser Acupuncture can be used independently, but are very often used together to provide a very effective treatment modality covering the entire structure of the body
